Changes

Things seem to be changing rapidly these days. And I have a feeling that it’s not going to slow down very much…

Tomorrow is the day that Hailey and I both start our first jobs as Registered Nurses! We will both be working at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, and we are thrilled about this opportunity to start the next phase of our lives. I will be working in CCU (ICU) and Hailey will be working in PCU/telemetry. These next few months will be very busy with orientation, learning, studying, and homework, but we are excited! Keep us in your prayers :)

It's official!

Also, Weston got his driving permit on Friday! It’s crazy that he is already old enough to be driving! (Even if it is with a parent in the car.) I feel like it was just yesterday that he was running around outside in his underwear all while being barefoot. Now he is, 15, a tennis stud, and driving around with our parents. My how the time flies!

 My parents sold and closed on our house in Ruidoso, NM this past week. I’m sure going to miss going to Ruidoso for a quick getaway here and there, but in recent years we just haven’t been able to make it up there as much as we would like to. Mom, dad, and my dad’s parents made a quick trip up to Ruidoso last Sunday to load up all the furniture in the house and bring it back to Abilene on Monday. It was such a quick trip and they were all exhausted by the time they got home! I think we are all going to miss the Ruidoso house and hanging out up there, but it was fun while it lasted.

 Hailey’s wedding planning is coming along and she is just down to the details now. Ty (Hailey’s fiancé) came to Abilene this weekend so that he and Hailey could work on wedding plans. They finalized the cakes, worked on the wedding program, and worked out their honeymoon plans. Hailey and Ty will be honeymooning in Maui (the Wailea area) and it is going to be gorgeous! I think they got a pretty cool deal and I’m excited for them.

And last but not least, my sweet valentine (Blake) came to Abilene and surprised me this weekend! Blake and I try to see each other every 2 weeks, so this is the weekend that I would normally go to College Station, he would come to Abilene, or that we would go see his family in New Braunfels/San Marcos. Blake had me convinced that he was just not able to make it to Abilene this weekend and that it was going to be another 2 weeks until we could see each other. Of course I was bummed, but I just didn’t feel comfortable being out of town and traveling to and from College Station the weekend before I start my new job. Blake and my family did a good job of keeping it a secret that he was coming to see me! We had a great and relaxing weekend just hanging out with my family and Hailey and Ty.

This was the only picture we got from the weekend right before Blake headed out the door to go back to cstat. I'm not a fan of this picture, but I'm terrible about getting pictures of us together, so this is all I've got.
